Film Project

Making Connections
Stories of Living with Multiple Sclerosis for 20+ Years

Our new film series (co-produced by Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and Solstice Films Inc.) and research project represents a unique collaboration model which will bring together individuals who have been living with MS for 20+ years and leading international professionals on health and healing.

We will profile five individuals (men and women ranging in age from 40 to 65) each with their unique journey. Their experiences will be explored from a psychosocial perspective as we hear from the individuals living with MS, their families and their physicians.

This project will also include a survey of 100 or more individuals who have been living with this chronic disease for 20+ years and will be compiled and analyzed by neuro-psychologists who specialize in the treatment of MS.

This film addresses the emotional journey faced by parents of children newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. In an interview format, these parents share their insights, stories and reassuring messages all in a supportive, positive manner. Topics include: facing the diagnosis, managing diet and testing, dealing with schools and normal activities, and coping with emotions. Their children also offer advice to parents and talk about living with diabetes.

Cancer survivor, Cindy Lauren and her support group are a window for discussion of important issues such as control, social support, resilience, and the search for meaning.
